Private Land Owner installs stream bank stabilization
In partnership with a private landowner in Dunns Rock, NC, we got to work on another stream bank stabilization project. The goal was to restore the ecological health of the stream while protecting the historic barn structure. We used several practices including boulder drop structures, rock toe protection, planted nearly 20 species of native plants and sewed native seed.
Grove Park Inn Golf Course
The Grove Park Inn Golf Course invested in a stream bank stabilization project to protect high value utility lines that were becoming exposed and to reduce sediment from entering the creek. During the implementation of the project the bank was graded to an appropriate slope for the space, a riffle and stone toe protection was installed, as well as a brush mattress and native vegetation from seed.
Wetland Restoration at the Carolina Memorial Sanctuary
In January we finished construction on the wetland restoration project at the Carolina Memorial Sanctuary. The featured images show the progression of the process; from the beginning of construction to several months post completion. Already we are seeing the change in plant life present and signs of wildlife utilizing this important habitat type. For more pictures and a great article about the project and the goals of the sanctuary read this CMS newsletter submission.
We look forward to hearing from you.
